Who
we are

LYW was created to make support feel safe, inclusive, and accessible for the people who need it most.

Our team is made up of Social Workers with both professional expertise and Lived Experience. Many of us are neurodivergent or live with disabilities ourselves, and we get how overwhelming, confusing, and exhausting systems can be when they’re not built with your needs in mind.

Our Principal Social Worker, Rachel started this practice after years of working in larger systems. As someone who’s neurodivergent and lives with disability, she wanted to create a space that was more flexible, more human, and actually helpful on the ground in our community.

At Lighting Your Way, we offer support that’s neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, and centred on the individual—whether that’s a child, an adult, or an entire family. We work across Redlands, Logan, Brisbane and surrounds, and we can offer mobile outreach to meet people where they’re at.

Our vision is simple: A Community where every person - no matter their background or diagnosis - has the support they need to grow, heal and thrive
