FAQs

  • While both Social Work and Support Coordination are crucial roles in supporting individuals, they have distinct focuses.

Social Work provides therapeutic, advocacy, and direct support services that address complex social, emotional, and systemic issues. Social Workers offer counselling, crisis intervention, assessments and advocacy, focusing on holistic well-being, rights, and navigating personal and systemic challenges. They are trained to work across various settings and address a broad spectrum of human needs.

Support Coordination, particularly within the NDIS framework, focuses specifically on helping NDIS participants understand and implement their plans, connect with service providers, build capacity, and navigate the NDIS system to achieve their goals. Support Coordinators act as navigators and facilitators within the disability support landscape. While there can be areas of overlap, our Social Work services are broader in scope, offering deeper therapeutic and advocacy interventions

  • Currently, we are not a registered NDIS provider, which means we are unable to directly support agency-managed NDIS participants at this time. However, we are actively working towards NDIS registration in the near future to expand our reach. We are currently able to support self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.

Our services align with the Capacity Building support category. Participants can typically utilise funding under the Improved Daily Living Skills sub-category for therapeutic and social work supports.

The specific line items often used for our services include:

    • For participants aged 7 and older: 15_621_0128_1_3 (Assessment, Recommendation, Therapy And/Or Training – Social Worker).

    • For participants younger than 7 years: 15_005_0118_1_3 (Capacity Building Supports for Early Childhood - Early Childhood Professional (under 7 years)).

We encourage you to discuss your NDIS plan details with us to determine if our services align with your funding and goals.
