Social Work

Social Workers offer a unique combination of therapeutic, practical, and capacity-building supports, particularly for participants with complex needs or those who have faced barriers in other systems. We work creatively and responsively bringing a wraparound, person-first approach that bridges service gaps, particularly for those at risk of falling through the gaps due to inaccessible or fragmented services.

Some examples of how a Social Worker can support:

  • Risk of Homelessness or Family Breakdown: We provide therapeutic support, advocacy, and crisis intervention to stabilize situations and connect clients to long-term resources.

  • Isolation or Lack of Engagement with Supports: We offer outreach services to rebuild trust, re-engage clients with their plans, and connect them with appropriate services and informal supports.

  • Complex Disability-Related Needs: When mental health, trauma, or addiction intersects with disability, we can step in to provide specialized support that aligns with NDIS requirements.

  • Social Connection & Coping with Fatigue: We can help clients build social connections, manage social fatigue, and develop sensory-based coping strategies and routines.

  • Support for Executive Functioning: We assist in creating visual schedules, rolling task lists, and colour-coded systems, tailored to the individual's needs, along with coaching on habit-building and planning techniques that work for them.
